To Care is to Grow

To Care is to Grow

CSO's founder, T.L. Kizer, always inspired his employees

to approach their responsibilities with a sense of compassion and high degree of integrity. These principals were paramount to the success and growth of our company. We’ve grown by caring for our policyholders, business partners, agents and employees.

In 1976, a bronze statue was cast by sculptor Wm. E. Doyle, S.J. Made specifically for CSO, the three foot tall statue depicts a young boy mending the wing of an injured dove. Entitled To Care is to Grow, the statute represents the guiding philosophy behind how CSO operates their business.

The statute and maxim were developed at a same time CSO’s growth necessitated a larger office facility. The To Care is to Grow statute helped commemorate when we moved into our newly constructed building on CSO’s campus in 1976. The statue remains proudly displayed in our five-story building added to the home office campus in 1988.

While the statue and slogan find their origins in the mid-1970s, the viewpoint they represent has prevailed since our beginnings. A caring approach defines the way we do business.
